Fund Raising
Fund raising is a great way of bringing folks together whilst at the same time raising money. Over the years, sponsored walks, sponsored swims, newspaper collections, sale of mugs and calendars have been the main sources of income.
1018 - Sarah Dawson selling calendars at Beverley market.
1026 - In 1978 the Society sold about 2500 mugs made by Hornsea Pottery.
1027 - 4 of the mugs, 2 brown and 2 black, were made with the Society's name underneath. This was later dropped as it was thought it may hinder sales.
1137 - Here we have Martin Stephenson (brother of Maris), Ian Campbell and Danny taking part in a sponsored walk to raise money for the BRF.
